The FCH Vision: Sample “Chapter” Activities included below!

Provide interdenominational fellowship activities/opportunities for men, women, & youth.

Including meetings, cookouts, game dinners, campouts, youth events, 3D shoots, etc. in an effort to share the love of Jesus Christ and ultimately build up the Kingdom.

Activities bring involvement and the building of relationships. Relationships lead others to Christ! Each activity allows members to expose their friends to FCH activities including the message of salvation. An outdoor ministry provides a foundation of common interest and makes sharing Christ easy while on common ground!

Activities need to be diverse, inclusive, and well rounded. Not just archery, firearms, deer, and so on. Hunting is seasonal such as deer in the fall and turkey in the spring. Need to use other outdoor avenues in between the hunting “slots” to keep an active and ongoing agenda and involvement. Activities such as; campouts, canoe trips, youth events, hog roasts, fishing day, blood drives etc. are all well received.  FCH is about “including not excluding” all outdoor enthusiasts.

Event Mailing:

The best method of communication to promote FCH activities is through mailing and church bulletin advertizing. People cannot come, if they do not know! Drafted letters are to all mailed to all members along with others on the mailing list promoting, advertising and inviting, involvement to each event. Communications must be well written, exciting, descriptive, and positive. Letters such as this, make people “want” to be apart! Letters should mail-out 2 weeks prior to the event. Always promote interdenominational fellowship where everyone is welcome!

Detailed and Complete Books/Records:

It is essential that all FCH funds and transactions are recorded and documented through the mother church treasury in order to maintain non-profit protection. Failure to account appropriately will lead to Chapter forfeiture. Independent FCH bank accounts may not be used.

Membership Records must be kept current and up to date. If you lose track of your membership and addresses you will lose your members! A follow-up “Welcome to FCH” letter should be sent to all new members within 1 month of sign-up. This letter brings accountability to new members as representatives of FCH and also gives them a personal sense of belonging.

Leadership Expectations:

Leaders must lead in all aspects of the ministry! Involvement and support is essential in all fashions of the ministry encompassing the FCH vision of providing fellowship/relationship building opportunities for all outdoor enthusiasts.

Leadership is about providing unity, excitement, enthusiasm, involvement, motivation, support, encouragement, mentorship, organization, & perseverance.

Leadership is not about:  focusing on just a few, a small click, individual pride, self-serving agendas, conflict, or dissension. United we stand…Divided we fall!

Leaders should not pursue personal agendas or hold weapon stereotype/prejudices. If leaders do not embrace the complete ministry vision, they probably should not be in a leadership role.

Leadership team members should be chosen according to the skill set that they bring to the team and organization. Skills such as public speaking (extremely important), organization, writing, computer, & secretarial skills are all essential needs for a functional leadership team. As a FCH leader… What skill set do you bring to the table? What skill sets does your team bring to the table? Where is your team the weakest? How/Who can fulfill the need?

Leadership Pastoral involvement from the “mother” church is an important part concerning the success and spiritual focus of each FCH Chapter. FCH Activities will not be scheduled in conflict with normal church activities, i.e. church services. Pastor involvement also includes recognizing the vision and focus of an outdoors outreach through relationship building. The Pastor needs to be aware of and approve the FCH event calendar and has the ability to critique activities accordingly.

Leadership Teams should periodically meet to discuss old and new business, review financial records, and build unity within the team. Monthly meetings are highly recommended.

Fundraising Events:

Fundraising events are a great way to help financially build the organization. Donations work for a while, but people will eventually get tired of handing over money to beggars when they see nothing in return. Fundraisers help you present the financial need, but also show that you are willing to work for it.

Activities in which individuals seek sponsorship such; Walk-A-Thons, Archery Shoot-A-Thons, Bake Sales, Hunter Auctions, Donation can at Game Dinners, Outdoor Clean-Up Day/ Hire a helping Hand, and so on.

We do not promote, participate, or host raffles, lotteries, or any other gambling type activity!
