“In God We Trust”                                                                  By: Mark A. DePugh

September 11, 2001…….. Do we remember? As the airplanes crashed into the World Trade Center bursting into a flaming inferno? As the US Pentagon was viciously attacked by evil doers? As a massive aircraft fell to the ground in a rural area of PA? Do we remember?

I am not here to discuss politics or government agendas: I am here to ask a question concerning you as a person. Yes, We grieve those Americans whose lives were tragically extinguished. We recognize the negative impact on the Nation's economy and stronghold of insecurity that has swept our great Nation. But, what about the survivors? What about you? Are your life and personal values different than they were on September 10, 2001? Have you actually caught a glimpse of the “big picture” and the part that you play in this world?

Will we pick up the pieces and carry on? In God We trust! Will we become better spouses, fathers and mothers? In God We trust! Will we become better neighbors and contributors to our community? In God We trust! Will we reach out to others as servants in the name of an Almighty God? In God We trust!

This Great Nation was founded under the principals of “In God we trust,” but do we? Are we seeking God’s face and asking for leadership, guidance, and perseverance? Are we praying for our Country, our President, and our Congress? Are we praying for our church, our family, and our friends?

I am asking many questions in an effort to engage your thought process. Obviously, the tragic events on September 11, 2001 stirred the hearts of many, but have we been changed?

We must firstly recognize that “In God We Trust”, means for all things. He is the Ultimate Creator, the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. Without Him we have no hope. He and He alone is our only hope of eternal salvation (John 3:16). We must then recognize that with God and His Omnipotent power.. All things are possible (Philippians 4:13). Jesus Christ must be our anchor, and that anchor will bring joy, peace and hope into the very depths of our hearts!

We live in a Great Nation.. ”Under God for which it Stands.” We have the right to enjoy what God has created. We have the right to bear arms, and we have the freedom to choose Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. We should be shouting, “He Lives, He Lives, He Lives!”

Yes, I remember what happened on September 11, 2001, but I also remember what happened on September 12, 2001. When Christians everywhere boldly cried out in a united voice “In God We Trust!” Trust Jesus as your personal Savior, for if God is for us, He is more than all that can be against us!

Be a leader! Take a stand for what is right according to God the Father. Seek wisdom though His Word, and personify the love and Saving Power of Jesus Christ!

Fall upon your knees and pray; Cry from the very depths of your heart, “God Bless Americafor  In God We Trust!”
