2003 Wild
Game Banquet By: Mark A. DePugh
What a night we had! Saturday evening March 1, 2003 was a night to
remember as the FCH Organization hosted their 2002 Wild Game Banquet and
Whitetail Awards Presentation for the OH Chapter.
The
facilities were full as dual food lines were formed for the buffet style wildgame feast! Once again, FCH Chef’s Bea and Gerald Gallaugher amazed our guests with multiple scrumptious
venison dishes, rabbit, turtle, antelope, squirrel, pheasant, goose, turkey and
more. Spectacular
and delicious to say the least!
We were fortunate to have guest speaker, Roy Nungester
from Circleville, OH.
Roy shared his personal testimony of praise to an Almighty and saving God. Roy
has won over 900 Gold Medals throughout the world in Archery and Weight lifting
(Bench Press) competitions. He boldly proclaims Christ as his source of
strength and might! Roy, A Vietnam Veteran, is paralyzed from the rib cage down
and has been confined to a wheel chair for nearly 40 years, but that didn’t stop
Roy. He turned his life over to Christ and WOW what a story. Roy won 28
consecutive National Archery Titles! The crowd roared
with a standing “O” for brother Roy Nungester! At
his conclusion he humbly pointed to God above proclaiming, ”He is the reason, He
is the reason”! God bless you Roy!
We also had a wonderful time during the Whitetail Awards Ceremony.
Taking first place
honors in the 2002 Archery Division was Mark Rogge, with a wonderful 140-class
monster buck taken in Ross County. Jamie Ward took the Black Powder honors with
a perfect 8 scoring 136 1/8 inches. And Joe Ott took
home the hardware for the Firearms Division. Joe’s brute scored a whooping 160
plus inches!
Other members receiving awards for big bucks scoring over 120 total
inches were:
Archery Division- Jim Sites, Bob Grooms, RJ Donahue, Firearms-
Rod Young and Tod Gallaugher. Congrats to all!

Doug Dove carried home the 2002 “Skunked Award”. He credits consistency as a key part of his
earning this award. He validates his consistency by receiving the plaque three
out of the past four years!
Do we have fun or what?!!!
