National News

Greetings to all! We certainly hope each of you has had an enjoyable summer, and I know you are anxious for spectacular fall. Soon fall’s beauty will paint colorful rainbows across the forests and the cool crisp evenings will begin to ignite the most popular big game animal in North America……… You guessed it! The whitetail deer! Can hardly wait!

What’s going on within FCH?

The FCH National Chapter has just completed our NEW video production from the “Witness in the Woods” series, entitled “Good Friends & Great Hunting”. This project is power packed with 90 minutes of wall-to-wall action! The video also contains the spiritual message concerning the Christian walk and the importance of our relationship with God the Creator. Hunts include deer, elk, turkey, coyote, pheasant, rabbit, and even bowfishing! To get your copy send $10.00 plus 2.00 S/H to Fellowship of Christian Hunters 6043 Mt. Tabor Rd. Chillicothe, OH 45601. Checks made payable to FCH /Mt. Tabor Church. You can also order directly through the website store. While you’re at it, order one for a friend, a great witnessing tool!

As the FCH organization continues to grow, it is evident that our avenue of communication must grow as well. We are currently pursuing a quarterly mailout/ paper for all FCH National Members. Information included will be upcoming National, Ohio, North Carolina and Indiana event schedules, pictures, stories, wild game recipes, and more. We’re exciting about this upgrade and are trusting God to open the doors for finance!

We encourage each and every member to send us pictures for the website: deer, turkey, elk, waterfowl, etc. We get many comments nationally about our photo section and you can be a part! Email them directly to our webmaster, John Brown or mail to the address listed above. Outdoor photo backdrops are the best, so if possible, try to avoid the pick-up truck and garage floor photo’s.

Annual Memberships: Don’t forget to renew you annual membership dues to make you eligible for the “Big Buck Awards” in each of our Chapters. This could be your year to take home the hardware! Annual Membership runs from the end of Turkey season in the Spring through the following years Turkey season.

Ohio News:

God continues to bless the OH Chapter with abundant growth, involvement and outdoor activity. Most of you know that the Ohio Chapter is the “home” of the National Chapter.

We recently talked to many people, and signed up several new members, at Ohio’s Ross County Fair. Not only are we gaining new FCH Members; We’re seeing lives changed through Christ! It is AWESOME how God works!

The Team Witness Pro-Staff is ready to hunt and let the camera’s roll during the upcoming fall whitetail and turkey seasons! We definitely encourage you to take your cameras afield, both video and still. Who knows you may be a part of our next video production!

Post the Ohio Chapter Fall Calendar of events in a place you visit frequently (like the refrigerator). We have many activities scheduled through the end of the year and you’ll want to be a part!

North Carolina News:

Dr. David Harrison and the NC folks are continuing to move forward as God is blessing the NC vision. Our North Carolina Chapter is based in Lexington, NC. They have an established events calendar and “hunting opportunity” schedule available on their website. Check them out at FellowshipOfChristianHuntersNC.org. According to Dr. Harrison they still have openings for several of the scheduled hunts, so contact them soon to book your hunt with the NC family!

Indiana News:

The FCH Indiana Chapter is up and running under the leadership of President Jim Hoff, and Staff Leaders Jeff Waas and Kevin Stirrat. The Indiana Chapter is located in the North Central section of the state in the city of Wabash. They are currently building their website with the address of FellowshipOfChristianHuntersIN.org. We hold much confidence in Jim and the Indiana Leadership Team and look forward to their future growth. Glory be to God! We welcome you!

Enjoying what God has given us:

It’s probably easy you to conclude that most of us reading this letter are either a hunter or at least an outdoors enthusiast. As we head towards the fall season and prepare to hunt, we should keep several things in mind and maybe even set some goals or priorities.

·         Absolutely abide by your State’s Hunting Regulations!

·         Hunt safely: Safety belts, harnesses, hunter orange, etc.

·         Take a friend hunting: Built and enjoy relationships!

·         Respect our hunting lands and thank the landowners for allowing you to hunt their land. A small gift, card, or a fruit basket would be a great idea around Thanksgiving to show your appreciation!

On the Spiritual side:

·         Communicate with God while you enjoy His creations. Talk with Him. Open your heart to Him. Listen for His voice. Especially during quiet times while your sitting in a treestand!

·         Focus on the beauty of His creation and thank Him for the right to hunt. It’s not about killing; It’s about the opportunity to enjoy God’s gifts!

·         Be “A Witness in the Woods”: ...... I‘ll let you figure that one out!

Lastly,

Have a wonderful, exciting, and blessed fall season whether you’re hunting deer, turkey, elk, rabbit, squirrel, bear, or waterfowl...... and remember -----

Hunt Smart, Hunt Safe, and always be A Witness in the Woods!

God Bless!
